As a survivor of trauma myself, I know how easy it is to dissociate from the body and live life in familiar patterns that are not healthy. Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. I work with a light gel incorporating techniques such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Hot Stone Therapy is using heated stones to "melt" muscles, using them to knead as well as placing them at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. This grounding experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
Thai massage is also called Thai Yoga massage, because I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches, as your body allows. You remain fully dressed, no oil is used, while relaxing on a cushioned floor mat. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain as well as energize energy pathways. This allows the nervous system specifically to reset initiating the parasympathetic system to engage, enhancing relaxation.
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us, channeling the source of healing power. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.
Aromatherapy is applying essential oils to boost mood, alleviate headaches, decrease stress, as well as reduce anxiety, inflammation and pain.
Reflexology is a technique using gentle pressure on feet and hands to activate or relax corresponding body parts, glands, and organs. It is beneficial for circulation, reducing stress, and restoring natural balance.
